Orch House
History Background:
Orch House was a building for tram staff rest or took shower long time ago, at the zero floor, they built it for trade event, so many compartments in the same place, the complicated space was good way for business, when I was in Prague , I got a chance to attend a group exhibition at this space.
Statement:
I can feel the way that people lived their lives when I`m in this space at the first time ; it was filled with activity. But nowadays, our lives have become idle spaces and the original function has been lost. My purpose is to bring vital imagery into these idle spaces of our lives. The mood that I am trying to convey is the feeling I got when I first walked into this space. I could feel that there was human action inside. I tried to intervene myself into this space, and give it new life. Therefore, I started to paste images on the wall, step by step. In the first image the scenes are of green grass and wild flowers. In other images, I am lying down on the grass as I tried to recur its hidden vitality. I also tried to transform it into another appearance by removing its heavy historical remnants and give it new meaning. Nevertheless, form and appearance belong to this place. These images were photographed on the wall, printed and then pasted on the wall one layer on top of the other, three times or four times. During the last time all the images had already created a complicated space, which seemed to go deeply into the range of the unpredictable.
